Karen Salem


Executive Vice President & Chief Information Officer


Karen Salem is Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of International Renewables. Ms. Salem has served as Chief Information Officer on senior executive teams for global Fortune 100, 200 and 500 companies, including Ingram Micro, Winn-Dixie Stores, and Corning Cable Systems. Karen is also a Board member to many institutions, as well as the University of California at Irvine's Center for Research on Information Technology and Organizations (CRITO). Ms. Salem was most recently Chief Information Officer for Ingram Micro, responsible for the worldwide information technology organization leading more than 600 resources with operations in 39 countries. At Winn-Dixie Stores, Karen was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer in charge of an IT organization of approximately 500 people supporting more than 1,000 stores throughout the United States.Prior to Winn-Dixie, Karen was the Chief Information Officer at Corning Cable Systems, a fiber optic cable and equipment manufacturer in 20 countries. Karen began her career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) specializing in manufacturing, productivity and systems implementations. In her CIO roles, Ms. Salem has rebuilt IT organizations, developing key competencies necessary to fulfill business goals. Karen has developed IT Operating Models and Program Management Offices that ensure delivery of high value projects on a predictable schedule. She has managed budgets in excess of $150 million and has led extensive outsourcing and off-shoring efforts. Ms. Salem brings strategic leadership to executive teams in evolving corporate operating models, making informed business investment decisions, and ensuring proper corporate governance. Ms. Salem earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering at Pennsylvania State University and a Masters in Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Cincinnati.
