Oriented Informatics and Telematics (HOIT) 2003 Workshop Conference:
The Center for Research on Information Technology and Organizations
(CRITO), University of
California, Irvine is pleased to announce a three-day international
workshop/conference on the Networked Home and the Home of
the Future. The conference is co-sponsored with IFIP. The
conference dates are April 6-8, 2003.
The purpose
of the conference is to present papers, exchange ideas between
and among researchers from different disciplines relating to
the impact of new technologies on family/work life and the developments
concerning the future of the networked home. The participants
will include researchers and specialists from Universities,
Research Organizations, Industry and Government. For more information

The National
Outlook for Automation in the Home (NOAH) is a research
project of the Center
for Research on Information Technology in Organizations (CRITO)
at the University
of California, Irvine and is funded by a grant from
the National
Science Foundation.
The main objective of the study is to examine the use of new
media and information technologies in the home and their impact
on family life and home-based work life. The project has been
tracking home computer use since the mid-1980's and the current
study will conclude in 2002. To find out more about Project

- Project
POINT (People, Organizations, and Information Technology)
is a national, five-year study funded by the National Science
Foundation analyzing how information technology (IT), especially
the Internet, transforms people’s lives in such areas as the
